Arzua is marked by its historical link with the Camino. It is placed in the centre of Galicia in less than an hour to the rest of the important cities of Galicia. Fervenza das Hortas is an astonishing place placed in Dombodan(Arzúa). Ladron river flows through breathtaking natural environment and it ends in a waterfall nearby an old mill. It is a fall of 30 meters.
It is the most important civil construction. Its construction was concluded in the late 1960’s, turning the place into the perfect spot to develop activities related to the lake and its natural environment. A small ferry joins both banks of the lake. Everyone can be transported and it is free of charge.
It is a little town that provides us the opportunity to meet both the cultural and gastronomic aspects of Galicia. Known as “A Terra do Queixo” (The land of the cheese), Arzúa holds the “Feira do Queixo” (The Cheese exhibition), where every visitant will have the opportunity to taste all the different types of cheeses shown in the exhibition. It is announced as place of interest. It takes place on the first weekend of March.
It is placed at the base of “A roda” mountain. The original circled wall structure and the moat endures. This celtic fortified stronghold dates from the ending of Bronze Age in the VI century B.C. Nowadays; it is used as a recreation centre placed in the middle of an oak grove. It is within the “Ruta do Viso” hiking path.
It is the last remain of an old Augustine monastery built on the XV century. Nowadays it has been transformed into a conference room.
